Frequently Asked Questions
-
You don’t need to be in crisis or have everything figured out to start therapy. Many people begin therapy because something feels off — emotionally, relationally, or internally — and they want support making sense of it. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, lonely, or unsure how to move forward, therapy can be a helpful place to start.
-
The first step is to schedule a free 15-minute consultation. This gives you a chance to ask questions, share what you’re looking for, and see if we feel like a good fit. If we decide to move forward, we’ll schedule an initial session and discuss next steps together.
-
That’s completely okay. Many clients come to therapy without a clear “problem” to name. Part of our work together is gently exploring what you’re experiencing and clarifying what feels most important to address, at a pace that feels safe and manageable.
-
Yes. I work extensively with women navigating infertility, secondary infertility, pregnancy loss, postpartum changes, and the emotional impact of becoming — or trying to become — a parent. These experiences can bring grief, isolation, anxiety, and identity shifts, and therapy can provide a supportive space to process them.
-
My approach is collaborative, non-judgmental, and grounded in emotional safety. Therapy is not about fixing you — it’s about helping you feel understood, supported, and more connected to yourself. We work together to explore patterns, emotions, and experiences in a way that feels respectful and empowering.
-
Yes. I work with adult individuals and couples. Couples therapy can support partners navigating fertility challenges, postpartum transitions, communication difficulties, emotional disconnection, or major life changes together.
-
I offer both secure telehealth sessions and in-person sessions at my office in Pomona, NY. Telehealth is available to clients located anywhere in New York State.
-
Yes. Many clients find telehealth therapy just as effective as in-person sessions. It can also offer added convenience, privacy, and flexibility. We’ll talk together about what format feels best for you.
-
Individual and couples sessions are typically 45 minutes long. During our initial conversations, we’ll discuss session structure and frequency based on your needs and goals.
-
Most clients meet weekly or bi-weekly. Frequency is something we decide collaboratively and can change over time depending on what feels most supportive.
-
I am an out-of-network provider and do not accept insurance directly. However, I can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement, depending on your plan.
-
Session fees are discussed transparently during the consultation so you can make an informed decision before starting therapy. If you have questions about cost or reimbursement, I’m happy to talk through them with you.
-
The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, your hopes for the process, and any questions or concerns you may have. There’s no pressure to share everything at once — we move at your pace.
-
Yes. Therapy is confidential, with limited exceptions required by law (such as safety concerns). I’ll review confidentiality in more detail during our first session so you know exactly what to expect.
-
Feeling nervous is very common. Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, especially if you’ve been carrying a lot on your own. We’ll go slowly, and you’re always in control of what you share. My goal is to help you feel safe, supported, and respected throughout the process.
